The $4,173 Softball Fundraiser

Most softball teams, players, and parents are quite familiar with fundraisers. However, I, personally don't know of many that raise $4,173 in one day, but I recently read about a softball team who did it.

The Middle Creek High School softball team raised $4,173 at a Applebee's Flapjack Fundraiser held Jan. 9 at Applebee's, 1480 North Main St. in Fuquay-Varina. All proceeds will benefit volunteer softball coach George Robb's medical expenses incurred after he was injured in a four-wheeling accident in November.

Is that cool or what?

Granted this was not your typical softball fundraiser. This fundraiser was done to help out a softball coach in need. Regardless, I still think it's pretty awesome. Now I have another reason to wish we had an Applebee's in Hawaii. I can't even try this as a fundraiser for myself.
