Olympic Softball - Why We Got Kicked Out

With the 2008 Olympics just around the corner. I thought you would like to understand better why softball isn't in the Olympics for 2012.

Here is a great article that summarizes well all of the issues and what happened.

US Team Too Good - They Hurt Softball

Hopefully, the International Softball Federation will be able to lobby hard enough to get us back in for 2016.

Golf will be a tough competitor tough…

I think taking softball out of the Olympics for 2012 is wrong. So we have the best softball team in the world! If this is the reason softball is being removed from the 2012 games then shame on the Olympic commitee. You dont see them removing Figure Skating from the winter games because the Russia has dominated this sport for years! Come on people let's get real here. Fair is fair. you are shattering the dreams of some Olympic hopefuls for those games. Give them a chance!

I am really ashamed and mad at our olympic committees diedision to take softball out of the olympics and and i not happy with the committee eaither deciding ot won't be in 2012 at all. I think it is real unfair to those girls and also unfair changing it where it isn't even on the 2012 sports venue is real uncool and unfair .

i'm still young and learning but i just don't get it. why? well i believe that just because USA was too good for the olympics it doesn't necessarily mean they had to take softball from the olympics. if a team is too good then the other teams should start practicing. and as for baseball. DON'T USE STERIOIDS! people need to understand they're ruining peoples dreams. i'm a softball player. and i DID want to be in the olympics…but now i just don't see that happening. my dreams for that are ruined!

We will know this fall whether or not we are back in the Olympics.

I suspect it had more to do with baseball having big problems (steroids, not sending their best players) than the US being too dominant.

In many parts of the world, softball is baseball for women. They don't really know our sport.

ok…softball is like americas pastime for women. baseball is ok…but why in hte world would you take out softball when the equstrian branch is retarded??? the horse does all the work! the only reason softball got kicked out is because the u.s.a is very competetive and we rocked. BRING IT BACK!
