Marie-Eve Arcand - An Angel Left Us

Marie Eve1 Marie Eve Arcand An Angel Left UsExactly a month ago today, I wrote about an amazing young lady - Marie-Eve Arcand who had just gotten into a car accident and was in pretty bad shape and in the coma at the hospital.

Life and Softball - What Really Matters

Today, at the very young age of 23 years old and after fighting hard for slightly more than a month, she lost the battle for her life and quietly left us.

Today, an angel left us.

Marie-Eve was just an amazing and wonderful young lady. One of the nicest person you could ever meet.

She was like the sunshine. When she was around, everybody seemed happier.

Always smiling and in a good mood, she was appreciated and liked by all.

Over this past month, over a 1000 people joined her Facebook support group. That's just evidence of how appreciated she was and how many people really liked her.

She was also the prototype of the "perfect athlete" for a coach.

Hard-working. Always on time. Always there. Showed up to play at every game. Gave 100% at practices. Competitive. Determined.  Great teammate. Respectful. Generous. Coachable. Open-minded. Had tons of energy all the time.marie eve2 1 Marie Eve Arcand An Angel Left Us

And on the field, she was athletic, fit, fast, had a great stick, solid defensive skills, and could play everywhere.

A dream come true for a coach. I absolutely loved coaching her. I liked the girl even more.

In fact, everybody I know who knew her did.

She was THAT wonderful.

Today, we lost a role model, an amazing young athlete, and most importantly, a great friend.

This is really sad. She had so much going for her and she was making the world a better place.

Sometimes life seems so unfair.

Our thoughts go to her family, friends, and people who have had the chance to know Marie-Eve well.

Marie-Eve - You will definitely be missed…

Marc

My condolences to her parents, family and friends. I did not know this amazing young woman personally but heard of her through your web site. It is a terrible tragedy to lose someone you love. There is always still so much you wish to say to them.

Marie-Eve you will forever remain in the hearts of those whom you blessed with your smile.

My condolences go to the family and everyone who knew Marie Eve. No, life's not always fair, but from what Marc describes, the young lady would want all her friends and her extended softball friends to learn to love life and to enjoy the people around them.

With sympathy,
