Beginners Softball Throwing Drills - Overhand Throwing Drill

To help isolate and practice the arm motion needed for the overhand softball throws, pair players up and arrange them in two lines about 15 to 20 feet apart, facing each other. Have players kneel on the ground so that the knee and lower portion of the throwing-side leg are on the ground and the foot of the glove-side leg is flat on the ground, with the knee bent at a 90-degree angle. The players throw the ball back and forth to each other using proper upper-body throwing mechanics.
