Fast Pitch Softball Drills – Competition Running Drill

Purpose: To work on the basics of base running and improve the player's speed in running a single.

Procedure: Drill can have as many runners as desired in lines at first base and third base. The head coach is at home plate, and the assistant coach is at second base. On the head coach's signal, the runner at first base tries to reach second base before the runner at third base reaches home plate. The runners then jog to the ends of the opposite lines.
