Fast Pitch Softball Drills – Straight-Line Drill

Purpose: To execute the crossover step and head in a straight line to the next base which teaches a key area of the basics of base running.

Procedure: Runners line up with the left foot perpendicular to the foul line and the right foot (from toe to instep) at a 45 degree angle from the line. On the coach's command, cross over with your left foot landing on the chalk line. Keep running down the line. Each stride should land on a chalk line.
