Softball Catching Drills – Close Plays at the Plate

Purpose: This drill is meant to help catchers for softball skills catching by allowing the player to practice thrown balls to the plate with a runner scoring.

Procedure: One player simulates a runner trying to score while another helper throws one and two-hopper toward the plate. The catcher makes the catch and the tag.
