Softball Hitting Drills – Hitting Drop drill

Purpose: This softball hitting drill is to improve the hitter's hand quickness

Procedure: Equipment required is Whiffle golf balls, a bat or a wooden stick, a temporally home plate.Using a regulation bat or a stick cut to the length of a bat, the player assumes a hitting stance The feeder stands a safe distance from the hitter, but close enough to be able to drop a Whiffle golf ball into one of the three hitting zones. The feeder should be able to drop a ball that simulates either an inside pitch, an outside pitch, or a pitch down the middle. To drop the Whiffle golf ball into the batter's inside hitting zone, the feeder should drop the ball in front of the hitter at a point on the inside corner of the plate. To drop the whiffle golf ball into the outside hit trig zone, the feeder should drop the ball in front of tie hitter to the batter's outside corner of the plate. To drop the Whiffle golf ball into the middle of the batter's hitting zone, the feeder should drop the ball in front of the hitter at a point in the middle of the plate.
