Softball Hitting Drills – Bouncing Ball drill

Purpose: To develop the hitter's ability to wait for a pitch and in effectiveness against an off-speed pitch.

Procedure:  Equipments needed crate of tennis balls, a bat. The player assumes a hitting stance. A feeder sits in a chair bent and throws a tennis ball toward the hitter. Upon its arrival in his hitting zone should hit the ball. The ball should be thrown so that it bounces before the hitter. The speed of the bounces should vary. The feeder should change his arm so that the hitter can't tell what type of pitch is coming. This softball hitting drill develops the hitter ability to be patient and keep the back leg.
