Softball Practice Drills for Softball Hitting – Barrier Behind Drill

Getting your hands directly to the ball is a big problem in softball. This emphasizes taking the hands directly to the ball and keeping the barrel up.

The batter’s rear foot is parallel to the side of a batting cage and in contact with the net. The batter swings by taking her hands to the ball and keeping the bat barrel up. The bat should not touch the barrier or the swing.

This drill is important for developing good softball hitting fundamentals.
