Softball Throwing Drills – 4 x 4 Gut

Purpose: This drill teaches players how to throw a softball under pressure when fielding and throwing to all bases. Infielders practice covering the bases. The drill creates competition.

Procedure: Infielders take normal defensive positions with a hitter and a catcher at home. The hitter hits four times to one player, who fields the balls and throws in order to home, first, second, and third. If an error occurs she must start over. The cycle is repeated three times.
