Softball Throwing Drills - Two-Hand Pickup

Softball throwing is somewhat underestimated in terms of it's importance in the game of softball. Without a proper throw, the opposition would have much more of a chance to reach base. Therefore, softball throwing drills are very important for a team to practice and execute. This drill, Two-Hand Pickup, is one of the better throwing drills around.

Purpose: To practice picking up the ball with two hands to get a secure grip.

Procedure: The player places the ball on the ground in front of her, picks it up with two hands, and throws it to a partner. The partner repeats the procedure on the return throw.
